I See You

Lately, I've been trying to see myself and others through the eyes of God. I could say that this was inspired by James Cameron's "Avatar" and Leona Lewis - I See You, but I think it started before that. Watching that movie was more like the trigger. I know that most people would not get what I got out of that movie. No, I think that it's the mindset that I'm in. I've been trying so hard to know what God wants for me and to want that for myself.

So here's what I do. Every morning and night, I try to look at myself in the mirror and say "I see you," with the same kind of meaning the Na'vi attach to it. Call it what you want, but it works for me. It helps me to see and accept who I am. After that, I pray and ask God to help me see others and myself through his eyes.

That's what I've been trying for the past week or so.

It started with the example of one woman...

My name is Amy.

First and foremost, I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

I decided to start this blog because of the example of one woman, Stephanie Nielson, who I saw on a YouTube Mormon Messages video: My New Life.

From that video, I went to this website: http://newsroom.lds.org/ldsnewsroom/eng/news-releases-stories/apostle-urges-students-to-use-new-media, to watch a video of a talk by Elder M. Russell Ballard in which he encouraged the LDS to use the internet to share the gospel.

And now, I have this blog.

I don't know exactly what it is I am going to write, but before I start, I want to say that I am human. I make mistakes. I get things wrong. So whatever I get wrong, you can pin it on me. I'll take responsibility for that.

To finish, I want to bear solemn witness that God is real and that He loves us.

Amen.
